The Abondance ESF (French Ski School) provides teaching adapted to all ages throughout the winter. No matter what your level is the instructors will help you to progress. Children will burst with pride when they receive a medal (Piou-piou, star or arrow).

ALPINE SKIING
Piou Piou: for children from 3 to 5 years old.
The Piou Piou Club is a structure designed for learning Alpine skiing in total safety where your children will have fun experiencing skiing for the first time. They will progress in a fun and adapted setting.
Group lessons for children and adults.
Trained mountain professionals will be instructing children aged from 3 to 12, teenagers, and adults, from beginners to experts.
SNOWBOARDING
There are snowboarding lessons 2 hours a day during the school holidays for beginners to advanced levels.

The medal is included in the card of 6 consecutive lessons, it will be presented during the medal ceremony in the hall at 5 pm Friday evening.
To encourage good habits as early as possible we strongly recommend children wear helmets.
So your child may be more relaxed we request that you do not stay nearby during lessons.
We provide a snack for the children during a break.
Remember: sunglasses, sun cream and a visit to the toilet before the lesson starts.
To improve or try out a new winter sport (Alpine skiing, snowboarding, freeriding, freestyle, telemarking and cross-country skiing), an instructor, private tutor, will adapt his/her instruction to provide quick progression and a personalised follow-up.
You can also hire an instructor for yourself (and your friends) for the day or half a day.
The instructor can help you improve your technique at your own pace and can also take you out to explore the Essert or Portes du Soleil ski domains. They will share their passion for their local region in a fun and friendly atmosphere.
The ESF instructors also offer individual or private lessons for sit-skis, handi-ski, taxi-ski and biathlon.

During your stay you may reserve your lessons onsite at the ESF office.
Rates do not include ski insurance (Snowrisk or permit), or ski passes (free for children under 5 years old), that must correspond to the level and age.
The ESF could change the length of the lessons if there are less than 4 people.
The ESF accept Holiday Vouchers.
The meeting point for lessons on the Essert ski domain is at the top of the cable car.
The ski domain offers a special rate for the cabin car return trip for accompanying persons for €1. Only on sale at the ESF office. Terms and conditions of use available at the ESF office.
The ESF, in collaboration with the Abondance Tourist Office and the Abondance ski lift companies, invites you to torchlight descents at Ludoffaz.
Every Monday: shows you how to use an avalanche transceiver to detect avalanche victims (DVA) at Auffaz, 5:30-7:00 pm.
Minimum 5 registrations, equipment is provided, €15 per person.
